I loved working for Darcee and Thomas!! She was one of the most trusting brides to create for. We had just done Thomas' brothers wedding earlier this year and she was very confident we'd get it right. That kind of confidence makes it so fun to work for the bride....why...well, because I want to prove her right! We created new centerpieces for her using massive grapewood pieces and another style was designed to match the charming rustic wood cake stand. The Wall at Castle On The Lake was designed as never before, abounding with vivid fall blooms. The aisle was covered in scads of rose petals and the walkway arches had yards of fabulous brown taffeta with huge florals. Everything we do at La Tee Da is created with a desire to set us and the bride apart. I don't want to be like all the other florist and thankfully Darcee was willing to let us create. How much fun we had!!! Many thanks to Darcee, Thomas and the Ables family!!

Where have I been?? Just seems as thought there isn't a lot of time left in the day for blogging. We have been busy as bees creating beautiful weddings and events over the summer and my intent is to blog just a few. Be sure to like us on facebook to see all the weddings from the summer, I've posted dozens.

So, the first to show you is Erin and Jordan. Erin worked for me for 3 years or so and we became very close. She's a lovely young woman and Thomas and I are so happy for her! She chose a western, country charm theme complete with horses in the background. Hay bales made for chairs, and a whimsical arch set the tone. It was a gorgeous Texas night and the bride was stunning! Love you, Erin!!

Jazz and Therman at Elmwood Gardens

Jasmine and Therman were married June 10th at Elmwood Gardens. Jazz was so excited to have us do the flowers for her ceremony and bridesmaids and we were only too happy to oblige! The gazebo, covered in asymmetrical gold satin with small flower poofs placed accordingly, looked whimsical and romantic. Looking down the walking trellis draped in gold satin also gave the allure of a romantic garden theme.

Jazz stopped by our facebook page with a little note, "To: The Greatest, most Creative, and Innovative Florist in the world!!!! Thank you sooo much from the bottom of our hearts for matking our wedding day extraordinarily BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! From the moment we first sat down to talk until the last phone call before our big Day!!! Words cannot express the joy I felt on the day from the moment I laid my eyes on the scheme of our ceremony. I love you soo much for that! You went over and beyond the call of duty to make sure our joyous occasion was nothing that we could've ever even imagined! Lisha and Jordon

Lisha and Jordon were married on June 12th at Elmwood Gardens. With purple chiffon lining the walkway trellis and outlining the arch there was a very warm summer feel to this wedding. Purple Vanda orchids in both Lisha's bouquet and Jordon's boutonniere were special just to them. The orange roses, star of Bethlehem, tulips, and ranunculus mixed with purple stock and lizzies made for eye-popping color set against the white flowers. Both Lisha and Jordon, so very much in love with each other, were fun to work with to be able to make their wedding dreams come true.

And just another couple of fun shots we took while working. Lisha had a beautiful dress!

Natalie and Ryen

Natalie and Ryen were married at Natalie's parent's home on the lake. What a beautiful day it was! With a mixture of peonies, roses, freesia and little beaded leaves Natalie's bouquet was fragrant and classic with bright spots of color. The bride and groom were married next to the pool and wanted a big beautiful piece to float in the pool, catching the eye and making for a wonderful foreground to the wedding ceremony. Putting the pool float in is fun to watch as my husband Tom does all the work, getting in and stringing it into place. With an lush island of flowers and a arch of stunning color and design, the wedding was sweet and personal. What a wonderful wedding it was!

Natalie's mother, Barbara stopped by facebook to give us this picture with the inscription, "My brother-in-law James watering the beautiful floating arrangement the next day from my daughter's wedding. So many compliments, Barbara and Thomas. Thank you!"

Katelyn and Adam in Marshall, TX

Katelyn and Adam were married on June 4th at Immanuel Baptist and the reception was at The Jeffersonian in Jefferson Texas. Katelyn decided on a romantic theme to her flowers displayed in the peonies, calla lilies, hydrangeas, stock, bells of Ireland and green hanging Ameranthus. Both Katelyn and her mother Gail worked with me to give an attention to detail making this wedding the wonderful day it was. Gail commented, "I have seen the most beautiful wedding flowers ever and it just happened to be my daughter's wedding!!! Thank you Barbara, for making the church and the reception venue look magical and breathtaking!! You are definitely the best!!! I want to shout your praises so everyone knows!!! Thanks for making a dream come true for our daughter!!"

Katelyn stopped by our facebook page to let us know, "I just wanted to say thanks so much for the absolutely beautiful flowers!! you exceeded every single expectation, and made our wedding look amazing! You are just awesome Barbara!!!"

Gee, with praise like that, I'm bound to get an ego... ;)

With each bridesmaid bouquets they had a monogram for each and we simply wrapped it around the stems adding a personal effect.

Champagne taffeta wrapped the arch giving it a wispy, flowing look.

This piece is extraordinary with all of the peonies and the fabric wrapped around the vase with a pearl broach attached.

We have a new cast aluminum vessel that stands over 5 feet tall making for a beautiful arrangement.

Tyler UpLights provided the lighting.

Ashley and Chase at The Villa Di Felicita

Ashley and Chase were married at the Villa Di Felicita on June 4th. With exciting flowers like Muscari (in the groom's boutonniere), hyacinth and blue thistle, this wedding was natural and organic. The wheat grass in the bottom of the tree centerpieces made for a earthy, intrinsic feel. The Villa has a wonderful outside ceremony location that we had the chance to do something different and exciting. Chase called in to us, two days before the wedding, letting us know that the silk roses that Ashley had ordered online had come in crushed and in the wrong color. Rhonda with the Villa had told him that we were 'miracle workers' and that we would be able to help him in his endeavor to surprise Ashley by creating her vision. We had 800 roses shipped in from Ecuador and with the extra help we had come in we were able to spend the day stringing roses in order to make this a reality for the two of them. We strung the roses 6-9 feet long then hung them from the top of the arch behind the bride and groom making a waterfall affect of roses. What a romantic wedding day for Ashley and Chase.

Ashley and Jeremy were married at Trinity Baptist Church here in Tyler, TX with the reception following. With calla lilies, peonies, lizzies, orchids, hydrangeas, and dahlias mixed together you get a beautiful array of flowers that we had so much fun creating. And look at that beautiful up do with our flowers in there! Ashley's mom, Cheryl is a wonderful hair stylus and takes care of me every time. It was nice being able to do the same for her daughter!

I just wanted to share these new centerpieces real quick as I am so excited about them! I have a bride coming up that's planning on using these and I had to take our vision and make them a reality. They can be used separately or we also have a matching beautiful piece to surround your cake too! These are for those rustic, vintage weddings you just have to fall in love with. Does is actually get any better than natural woods, flowers, pearls and antique buttons? I think not.

Krystin and Wesly at Elmwood Gardens

Ok, so I absolutely had to share this wonderful wedding with you. This wedding was special as Krystin came all the way from Dallas just to get married at the quaint Elmwood Gardens.

Krystin, like myself, loves buttons and had ordered her bouquets from Australia but was discouraged when the brides bouquet was so small. She mentioned this to me in passing a few minutes after arriving at Elmwood Gardens and the thought that she wasn't completely satisfied with her bouquet got me to work. I took a few extra roses I had brought with me and surrounded her button bouquet making it larger and fuller, and a little more fresh ;) A few hours before the ceremony was to take place a terrible rain storm came through and there was no hope for the outside wedding that she had been planning on. No problems here as we're always prepared for whatever nature might throw at us. We quickly moved her fabric and arrangements inside, wrapping the staircase for a beautiful entrance. Krystin later remarked "Barbara you did an amazing job even with the last minute setup, your visions are incredible. Thanks for all the hard work you did to make my day extra special!" Even Krystin's mom stopped by our facebook page to let us know "What a life saver you are - you did a absolutely wonderful job with the rain & a very disappointed bride turned very 'Happy Bride.' Thank you for all your help through this year long journey - you are the best!!!!"

Krystin, I enjoyed every minute of making your day smooth and effortless as possible.

Oh my Gosh...this was a breath of fresh air! I had so much fun with this wedding. The colors are just fantastic, canary yellow and silver. We used some garden roses that were out of this world. The Bride carried white peonies, yellow garden roses and gardenias and then we added antique buttons. I loved it and so did Lindsey!

Nikki and Jonathan...LOVE, LOVE this couple! Nikki is so full of life and ready for anything. She knew just what she wanted and it was stunning. I know that each and every bride looking at this is going to ask "where was that!!!" Well, the grooms parents put this whole wedding on at their home in Gladewater and they spared nothing! Attention was put to every detail and the scene was set. Speaking of details, Darla from D'vine Details (wedding coordination) contributed so much! I loved the 200 acre ranch with horses, mules, cows (lots) trees, lakes and everything grand about Texas. What a beautiful day for a fun-loving energetic couple!! Anne and Carey are wonderful! Elmwood Gardens was beautiful as usual, flowers and vines were abundant! Anne had these wonderful antique jars that were her mothers and we got to design in them. Then, if that wasn't fun enough....Carey brought in his cowboy boots and we made some floral arrangements in them. Anne's bouquet was spectacular. It was so soft and vintage...filled with white and pale pink peonies, french lilac, roses and succulents! It was a very pretty bouquet for a very pretty bride! Really, what a delight!! Thanks Anne.

I don't know if you heard, but I forgot my mom's birthday. Things are busy over here in Afghanistan. When I realized (it's 9pm March 22nd here) I immediately called your shop! Your husband answered the phone. At the same time, live ammunition was going off and the sirens started sounding! I had to run to the bunker! I called my mom after I got off the phone with your husband and told her "happy belated birthday" and then he showed up with the flowers while I was on the phone and I never got to thank him! She has already sent me four pictures! haha - please tell your wonderful husband thank you for me!!!

Everyone at La Tee Da loves getting a warm, heartfelt thank you from the mother of the bride! When I first heard from Susan (mob) she was so disappointed...you see, she wanted everything to be "just so" for her only daughter Sarah. She had planned to have the wedding flowers done by another Tyler florist and when Sarah got her portrait bouquet...she just wanted to cry! Really, what she was asking for was so easy and a no brainier. All she wanted was blown open red roses!! It was an easy fix for them...they made the switch to La Tee Da and off we went! It was beautiful and just what Sarah wanted. She wasn't difficult, hard to please, a bridezilla, or a brat...she just wanted open roses...and that wasn't hard to accommodate!

It's The Bridal Show Season!! 2011

Snow, who in the world ordered snow on January 9??? Nobody I know that's for sure. Oh, I know you're saying "Ha, the California girl can't take it"! Well, that's not necessarily the truth even when you take into consideration that I specifically asked God not to move us somewhere it snowed! Well, that being said, it did snow on the day of the bridal show...yes, it did cut into the amount of guest to preview our work but I know that just the right bride was there!

The Wedded Bliss Magazine hosted the event at The Cascade Country Club. The Bridal dresses were by Brides and Belles and Weddings A to Z.

Blessed and to be happy is a man who finds a good wife! Ashley is a fun, vivacious, creative and energetic woman. I adored working with her. She knew what she wanted and was on a mission to get it. Flying Feathers Ranch in Longview was the location and what a transformation it went through. I had over 400 yards of luscious orange taffeta sent from the west coast. And Ashley made the best of it, covering walls, accenting chairs, and even covering light fixtures! It was a beautiful day at a beautiful setting for a beautiful bride!

Sweet and sophisticated...Sarah and Hayden were a dream to work along side. They were sure of their sense of style and wanted the flowers to be a reflection of it. Not fussy or overdone, but pretty and soft. I think she got just that! We planned this in the store along with her Mom and had such a great time. What lovely people.... happy to be happy. They were all hands on, everyone from the bride to the mother of the groom! For some that could be a recipe for disaster but I'm happy to report that was not the case. All of it was fabulous, the dresses, the bouquets, the rosary around Sarahs bouquet, the centerpieces, the brooches, the cake by Village Bakery and the up lighting not to mention all the smiles and happiness.

I've been asked "What if" by brides so many times....you have a flat tire, you fall and break a leg, get in an accident, or whatever. I've always said "it's not what you do about a trial, it's how you handle it". Trials will come but God never leaves or forsakes us!

First of all I want to say, this was a tough day....I'm so thankful for family and friends who support me. Without them I couldn't have held it together for this lovely wedding. Julia and Dane were married on Saturday, November 6th. and about 12 hours before their ceremony I found out my 90 year old mother had passed away. She had colon cancer and was having surgery on the 5th. in Illinois. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to be with her when she went into surgery because of my wedding commitment, so we had a heartfelt conversation including "everything will be okay Mom". That night she passed away, not recovering from the surgery. I loved her and I'll miss her very much. The reason I tell you this is to let you know what wedding vendors/professionals do when we are faced with a trial. We keep going. We pull out all the strength that God has imparted in us. We put on a happy face in front of the bride, wipe our tears and do the best we can. That day, people rallied around me....My wonderful husband Thomas, Pam my assistant and friend who moved here from Calif., Erin (who's become like a daughter), Paul and Mary Pennington and their daughter Ronda who are the owners of The Villa Di Felicita, Deanne and Cornelius from Designs by D'Anne, Casey Jay Benson and all the rest that gave me hugs and well wishes. Because of my great staff and a great group of friends, the day went a little easier, the bride didn't know what had transpired and all went well. Barbara

Jessica and Jason were married at the Villa Di Felicita on a stormy East Texas night!! Below, you'll see pictures with her large flower arrangements outside, but unfortunately the wedding had to be moved inside. As much as East Texas needed rain I sure hated to see it come on Jessica's big day! On the up side The Villa has a wonderful chapel room that easily accommodated all of Jessica's and Jason's guest. So the large arrangements of cream roses, white hydrangeas, champagne roses and white stock were swooped up and brought inside. The rose petals were tossed and the candles lite and Jessica and Jason said "I DO". All is well.

Megan and Greg were married in Gilmer and had their reception in Gladewater, Texas. What a beautiful day for a beautiful bride! Every once in awhile I don't get pictures of the bride...maybe I had to move on to the reception before she was dressed, or maybe even the camera was no where to be found! I will say that not getting a picture of Megan is a disappointment...she's a very gracious young woman and I wish I had a picture to remember her by :( Her bouquet had 3 colors of Calla Lilies and among them were some of my favorites, Picasso's. Hydrangas, roses and tulips all in eggplant. A very popular color this season!

Amber crystals just gleamed and sparkled in this brides bouquet. Lindsey came in to see me and I had just gotten them in stock and she was lucky enough to snatch them up! What a pretty fall bouquet, orange cymbidium orchids, dahlias, roses, monkey tails, hypericum berries, calla lilies and freesias. Gotta love autumn!

Britain and her Mom Evangeline, took this wedding to a whole new high. Britain and her parents are the owners of Castle On The Lake, in Jacksonville and of course they see weddings every weekend! So they pulled out all the stops to create something different and that would speak to their own hearts! Wasn't her dress amazing?? You should have seen it in person...truly couture and stunning. It of course helps that Britain has a perfect figure and takes great photographs! Speaking of great photographs...the first one is of Britain for her bridal portraits. Matthew Hogan was the photographer and I took the rest...(you can easily see the difference).

Britain had 11 bridesmaids and 9 perfectly adorable "fairies" that sprinkled fairy dust down the aisle. Thomas, my hubby, works with leather and so Evangeline had him design the perfect pouches for all that dust! I ordered 300 yards of "Old Gold" Satin fabric for them from Los Angeles and it was gorgeous in the sunshine...wow, it took your breath away! And look at the way we put the fabric on the chairs in the aisle...it rocked!! The new wall/ backdrop is amazing....it is about 15 feet tall and looks like the front of an old church. The wood doors can be opened to allow the view of the lake to come through.

The grooms cake was surrounded by giant bears, horns and a table full of rustic warm items. The brides cake was alternating cake and moss risers with crystal broaches adorning it! Another creation by Britain and Evangeline and Designs by D'Anne baked the yummy cakes!

Well needless to say...this wedding was fun from the get go! I always consider it an honor when a venue owner picks us to do the flowers! They see local florist every week and we were the one selected...pretty cool huh? Thanks big time for the privilege Britain and Evangeline!!!

Jessica and Rob were married on a beautiful day at Elmwood Gardens. It finally felt as though fall had arrived. Just in time too since Jessica's wedding was abundant in fall, warm, rich toned flowers and pheasant feathers. The gold taffeta fabric was so pretty on the gazebo and walkway. We switched up how the flowers were on the gazebo and I loved it. I found some extra fancy pheasant tail feathers that were 50 inches long and were so cool coming from the flowers on the gazebo. With the slight breeze in the air, the feathers were gently swaying. Jessica loved the new cake stand we made..feathers and all. And notice that she had two different centerpieces...first to use them! They are perfect!!!

This was such a great bride and mom to work for! I'm blessed to have such awesome clients!

What a gorgeous wedding this was!! I think all my weddings are special but sometimes I get to make something that just pulls at my own heart strings as well as the brides. Purple happens to be my favorite color in the whole world! Then, mix it with deep oranges, cranberry red, celery green and Antique Hydrangeas, throw in some succulents and oh my gosh! I used deep eggplant purple taffeta for the walkway and the gazebo.... it was luscious.Then Hannah and her mom Melissa, gave me the green light to surprise them with something for the cake to sit on. Thomas and I created this stand, it took a full day to make. We covered it in birch bark, moss, birch tree branches and curly willow sticks, then added bird houses, giant succulents and lots of gorgeous flowers. Hannah and her mom were delighted! I had a blast creating for them and as always it was great to be at Elmwood Gardens! Thanks to Melissa and Hannah, it was so much fun!

Sara and Barrett were married on a beautiful day at Elmwood Gardens. Fall is here and Sara's bouquet reflected that. I don't usually work with sunflowers but when a bride wants them I'm happy to oblige. We used mini sunflowers in her bouquet so they didn't overwhelm the other flowers. It was a nice mix of orchids, lily's, dahlias, roses, stock, hypericum and billy balls. Check out Sara's shoes, they were so cool!

As you can see we've been honored to work at Elmwood Gardens a few times lately and everyone wants the fabric on the walkway! Who wouldn't...it's astonishingly beautiful! Sara picked a soft gold-ish champagne colored taffeta. We have many different choices of fabrics, from taffeta to satin to chiffon in every color imaginable. All are imported from my old distributors from Calif. so I'm able to price it really reasonably. Take notice of the hydrangeas at the corners of each post. It was so pretty...just like Sara!

We had such a great time at The Villa Di Felicita for Country For Our Country! We made flowers for the entry that were a little more vintage themed and a big gorgeous all white piece for the buffet in the VIP room. The purple and red heart was on three of the tables designated for recipients of the Purple Heart medal! All of the countrymen were honored and a great time was had by all. The sky was just glowing that night! Thank you to Paul and Mary Pennington and all the gang at the Villa, it was amazing!

Harvest time is the best time of the year...I just love autumn leaves, cool breezes, and the house smelling of fall flowers. Speaking of flowers, the choices are changing into a wonderful variety of fall colors. Summer flowers will soon be all gone and we'll usher in the autumn blooms. Can't wait..the burgundy peonies will come back, the mini pumpkins, gourds, feathers, succulents and all those amazing dahlias. We were blessed to be focused in The Tyler Today magazine for the current issue. Thomas filled a big rooster with all the bountiful flowers and it was amazing on the table. So much so, the client has asked us to duplicate it in silk for her to have forever.

Elmwood Gardens is teaming with LIFE! I had so much fun taking pictures at this wedding venue/bed and breakfast! What beautiful gardens....so well maintained, groomed but yet natural. I must have seen 100's of butterflies and tons of dragon flies. I thought maybe you'd enjoy a few pictures of just a few of the creatures I ran across. The picture of the caterpillars eating a vine is amazing. J.D. , (an amazing gardener)
explained that they were eating a passion vine and those would become Monarch Butterflies! What a transformation!!! Oh yeah, the guy in the picture is James..Dee Dee's hubby and the big..did I say big.. horse is Prince. He pulls the carriage and delivers the bride to the walkway. The red tractor is Jame's new antique tractor. Pretty cool huh?

This is Mister Griffy, often he is called the owner of La Tee Da, the mascot, cutie-pie, our third child (we have two human kids) and just an extension of the Tidwells. The later is probably the most truthful. He is always with us, travels to most every wedding and always waits somewhat patiently in the air conditioned car. Often you'll see him running a muck at Elmwood Gardens chasing poor Dee Dee's cats! Thomas is always in the background running after him and yelling "Griffy, Griffy, Griffy"! At the Villa De Felicita he's been know to go out in the adjoining fields and come back with tons of stickers! In any case, he is a VIP in the Tidwell family, we love him dearly. If you come see us at the store...he'll be there, wagging his tail, sleeping in his bed or waiting to play!

Wow oh wow!!! What a hot day this was. Let me ask you....does anybody ever get used to the hot humid weather in Texas? This day was a blaze....we had an old friend who said " the sun moves real fast on hot days" if that were so, then the sun was spinning like a top!! Somehow, Mary Lauren managed to look cool as a cucumber and radiant!! What a pretty bride. The orange and green flowers were crisp and sunny...we loved it...hope you do too!

What a cool wedding this was! We got to use the ring...all the chairs were placed in a circle and Shanti walked the circle to her waiting groom and the beautiful wedding ring. When we were florist in California we had a ring and it was loved by so many, that we just had to have another made. It's been so beautiful every single time. Sometimes we put sheer fabric on it, sometimes we use a heavy brocade, but each time we decorate it, it is filled with luscious blooms and this time was no different. Shanti's bouquet had a beautiful variety of flowers including peonies, roses, orchids, phalenopsis orchids just to name a few. The Victoria Station in Whitehouse was a great backdrop. And check out the amazing cake...Designs by D'anne did a wonderful, scrumptious job!

Well, I loved creating and delivering this wedding. Crystal and her mom Mrs. Brown were so much fun to work for. When I delivered this wedding it was a joy...so many of the groomsman and guest as well as the father of the bride and the groom were in uniform! I was ready to break out into the Star Spangled Banner!! Really, I felt so patriotic, so proud of the service all these men and women give for all of us. Crystal is in the U.S. Army Reserves and you can see that her father is General Red Brown. This is a family of servers, service in the ultimate way. Thanks again to all those brave men and women!!!

Now, about Crystals flowers..hahaha...she wanted a BIG bouquet for herself, didn't care for roses, wanted tons of texture, lots of shades of pink for the bouquets and all white flowers with navy accents for the ceremony and the reception. It was stunning. Check out the white hydrangeas going down the aisle...different and fun, we all loved it.

You know, it occurred to me that I always write about how beautiful the bride was...how nice the mom is, how kind, sweet and pleasant to work for. I always talk about the dress and how amazing it was...and I always talk about the cake. But you know, it's true...each one is different and each is special in their own way. Jessica is no exception...she looked amazing! Her dress was one of the coolest I've seen in a long time. The cake looked just like it. Designs by D'Anne in Jacksonville covered this amazing cake in frosting peonies and small lilies..it was breathtaking! As far as the mom goes..Ann Baker is a joy, she's generous, kind and ever so thankful for the slightest task. What a great lady!! Jessica was full of life, radiant and so happy.

Our theme was ivory, apple green and a splash of hot pink. The Villa Di Felicita looked amazing as well. The ballroom was set a little differently and it was a great twist. See the pictures of the head table, the band of flowers were inlaid with candles and I'm sure that at night it was a glow, just like this bride.

Hannah and Evan had a beautiful ceremony at The Villa Di Felicita inside in the Chapel room. It was gorgeous...the two big urn arrangements were vivid with color, the ivory taffeta draped the aisle with flowers on alternating chairs. Then to top it off we did a massive amount of green petals in a scroll pattern down the aisle. I've seen this done on the west coast and Hannah and I were excited to be the first to have it here in East Texas! Don't ya just love being different!!!!

The cake was amazing and done by Village Bakery...yummy, I would have liked to taste that one!!

Jessica and Derek were married at The Summit Club in Longview. It was a hot day and I know I sure appreciated getting to be inside that day! Speaking of hot...holy smokes, you should have seen Jessica! What a gorgeous bride!!! Great dress...great bridesmaids dresses, great taste in flowers and colors all made for a terrific, romantic look. Take a look at the silk petals down the aisle in a scroll pattern. It rocked! Geisha roses!!! How beautiful are they....deep yellow with a pink edge and big enough t show off their color. This is undoubtedly my favorite rose. It's very difficult to get so I ordered them from Los Angeles and from my distributor in Dallas. I was hoping one of them would pull through for me and low and behold they both did. I had amazing, beautiful gorgeous Geisha's everywhere..haha. But, I had to have them!!!! I had told Jennifer about them and described how wonderful they were. You see, not everyone thought that pink and yellow would work together. Jennifer is in fashion design and was sure of herself and her choices. I encouraged them because I knew how fabulous this combination can be!! Her bouquet was created with: crystals, geisha's, rosita vendulas roses, yellow and pink variegated parrot tulips, pink peonies, white mini calla lilies and some very special hydrangeas that came from Holland. This is one of those bouquet that is so much fun to make. The colors are not done often, the flower choices are incredible together and it's just so darn pretty!

SWEET Nicole...what a dream bride. This bride wowed me! She had been faced with some adversity on wedding planning and she handled it so well, with maturity, composure and graciousness. Every Vendor that worked for her adored her...Donna Cummings is her photographer (can't wait to see the images) Her dress is amazing and from Weddings A to Z. Eagles Bluff Country Club was where she married Chase and Vanessa McKeller was there to catch it on film! Great group of vendors for a great bride. All the planning paid off and the wedding was beautiful. Her bouquet had peonies, gardenias, cymbidium orchids, roses and it was a true reflection of Nicole's personality.
By the way...her mom Jeannie, was a dream, committed to her daughters happiness in every way and a pleasure to work for. LOVE this family! Oh yeah, Nicole's mom and dad were married on June 5 too ...oh yeah, so were her grandmother and grandfather!!! I guess June 5th. is a joyous holiday around that house!!

Kristen and Brandon were married at the Vila Di Felicita on a beautiful sunny day. The color of pool dresses with the coral flowers were stunning! Kristen and Brandon live in Alaska and in her bouquet we put lots of "Eskimo" roses. They are a gorgeous white rose with a terrific shape and were perfect for her. Almost as perfect as she looked! The coral peonies were amazing! Check them out in the close up of the large ceremony piece. They are my favorite....at least today. This is a terrific couple..I just love my brides!!

When a florist is chosen to create flowers for a family, one doesn't expect to get to create for THREE daughters!! That's exactly what happened with the Chapman family of Longview. First there was Jessica, then Jennifer and last but not least Julie. All three brides said "I DO" within 15 months! Peacock feathers, peonies, roses, anemones, orchids, hydrangeas, muscari and several more seasonal varieties were the flowers for the day. The Chapman's yard came alive again...large flower balls floated in the pool and hung from the pool house. Over 100 yards of Peacock taffeta draped the cedar frame, orchids swayed in the breeze and Julie and Jared became one.

Many people ask me "why weddings"...the answer is easy, because it's so rewarding!

Last week I did a wedding for a wonderful bride Sharla. Her sister LaShe, helped her and acted as her wedding coordinator. She was a blast from the get go and I really enjoyed working with her. It wasn't until a couple of weeks before the wedding that I meet Sharla. The two girls were really trusting and believed it was going to beautiful. Their mom on the other hand was a bit more skeptical...she lives in Seattle and was questioning the girls choices. Well, this is how it all worked out. This message was left on my phone just a few short hours after the wedding. I edited a few choice words...lol.

Hey Barbara, it's LaShe, I just wanted you to know you're awesome...you're magnificently awesome! My mom underestimated you and she had to eat her words. She loved it all, it was really classy and just so beautiful. Sharla had tears in her eyes when she saw the reception and just said it was out of this world. I really truly appreciate you and will definitely recommend you to many, many people because you are awesome and you rock. I'm so happy and blessed that we found y'all!!

This was an amazing wedding that took place at the brides parents home. Mr and Mrs B. Chapman of Longview, Texas had just finished building their beautiful new home and moving in. The landscape was being completed just days before the wedding. Plants were finding new homes in the earth, the pool was being filled and pool cabana was being built. All of this for two weddings...did I say two?? Yes I sure did! You see The Chapman's have three lovely daughters and one son. La Tee Da was fortunate enough to create for the first daughter to marry, Jessica and Rocky. You may remember seeing her post here and the cover as well as the back page of the Wedded Bliss magazine. They were married just barely over a year ago at Jefferson, Texas (if you missed that post be sure to take a peak at it..it's gorgeous). So, this wedding is for Jennifer and T.J. and wow, was it ever a wedding. The attention to detail was devine. I made a trip to Dallas with Jennifer and Mrs Chapman to see BBJ Linens and Posh Couture Rentals. The colors were raspberry and Caribbean blue. Jennifer and her mom made all the choices from linens, cake table linens, napkins, chargers, dinnerware, glasses, flatware, chairs...you name it..this bride was on board! We also had the help of a wedding coordinator that I had not worked with before and I was pleasantly surprised! I would easily recommend Adam and Jessica Bennett of Younique Productions. They completed all the details (including getting an acrylic platform to cover the pool with) and this wedding was full of charm and whimsy...just what Jennifer wanted! I have really enjoyed working for this family. Mrs Chapman is full of love for her daughters, it showed in every minute of every conversation and in every action. I saw the love for these girls...personally witnessed it and it's a lovely thing!!

When Ellen Searle of Marshall, Tx called and said she had another son getting married, I knew it was going to be pretty. Ellen's future daughter in laws are so blessed because she is one of the best mother in laws ever!! She helps the bride so much but yet still lets the bride have her choices and desires...she's the perfect "coordinator/mother/friend"! I'm sure waiting to see the pictures from her photographer, Brandi Burkett. We didn't get a very good picture of her bouquet and it was really gorgeous!! So when those come in I'll be sure to post them :) In the meantime here are my not so great pictures. Be sure to check out the David Austin rose "Miranda" and our new arch...its 8 foot wide and 3 foot deep..for Falon we draped it in taffeta and hundreds of gorgeous blooms flowing down and over the front!! It was beautiful.

Lindsey and I both LOVE red peonies! We felt so fortunate to get them at this early time of the year....they are such a great flower but more available later in the fall/winter. We had a second choice in mind but the suppliers in California pulled it out for me. Perfect...they were just perfect!

Holly and Stephen were married at Roseland Plantation. The bouquet was made with 3 colors of mini calla lilies. The flower girl basket was charming with all the pretty ribbons and cool water roses. What a pretty day to get married in front of the 1800's chapel!

Jenny has such a sweet spirit! Do you see the pendant with the picture of a man on her bouquet? Jenny made one for her and one for Juan to carry in his pocket to remember his father. It's always special to see someone give those extra special touches to make it theirs. This was a great day at Elmwood Gardens, two families filled with love, joy and a very happy bride!

Tori and Ryan were married on a beautiful sunny day at The Reserve at Lake Tyler. I had not been there before so it was a great surprise to see this venue. I love water...oceans, lakes and even a small murky pond..so you can imagine how pretty this was to me. You can stand on the deck to get married and the water is right at you feet. Tori loves Gerber Daisy's, that's a flower I don't work with to much for several reasons but the primary one is they like water and cool weather. So we had a short window of spring time that I thought they would hold up and not wilt. Tori was so happy to have such a happy flower! Congratulations to you both.
